Hi, I'm Dontea, the founder and maker behind Soul Pour. I'm a disabled U.S. Army veteran, and like many veterans, life after military service came with challenges I never expected. One of the hardest was insomnia. Night after night, sleep became difficult to find, and I searched for anything that could help me slow down and find a sense of peace.
One evening, someone gifted me a lavender candle. I wasn't expecting much but, lighting that candle became part of a nightly ritual that helped quiet my mind. It wasn't a cure, but it reminded me that sometimes the smallest moments of peace can make the biggest difference. That experience sparked a curiosity that quickly grew into a passion. I began learning everything I could about candle making, fragrance, and the incredible connection between scent, memory, and emotion.
What started as a personal journey became Soul Pour. Today, every candle is still hand-poured in Oklahoma using 100% natural coconut apricot wax, premium fragrance oils, and handcrafted concrete vessels. I believe a candle should be more than something that smells good it should help create an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself.
